The Subcontracts Manager coordinates and supervises the daily activities of, and is accountable for, the results of a team of Subcontract Administrators on a Project.Bring your experience and expertise to a company that embraces tough challenges while you conduct and coordinate procurement transactions associated with contracting out professional and construction services, as assigned. The Subcontracts Manager has extensive knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, principles and practices, and the techniques of ensuring task completion and serves as an expert within the organization. They understand the role of procurement and its integration with other project functions, accomplishes value-added expectations, and performs assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures.The Subcontracts Manager reports directly to the Manager of Procurement Services (MOPS) for the office which they are assigned. While supporting Jacobsu2019 Projects, the Subcontracts Manager will report indirectly to the assigned Project Procurement Manager (PPM), Project Manager, or Construction Manager.Bring your curiosity, passion for innovation, and talent for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and we will help you grow, pursue and fulfill what inspires you - so we can make big impacts on the world, togetherSome responsibilities will include the following:u2022 As a Subcontracts Lead, develop upfront Procurement planning activities such as the Subcontracting section of the Supply Management Execution Plan (SMEP), establishing Subcontracting Strategies, and developing project-specific templates, reports and toolsu2022 As a Subcontracts Lead, manage the activities of a small to mid-sized team of subcontract administrators and other supporting procurement functions. This typically includes, establishing package assignments and priorities, eliminating obstacles, managing the interface with Jacobs and Client management, providing on-the-job training, and offering support and guidance.u2022 As Subcontracts Lead, use critical thinking and problem solving to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Projectu2019s Subcontracting effortsu2022 Subcontracting assignments typically will consist of professional or technical services, and major or complex construction services on larger projects, or assignment as the Subcontracts Manager for all subcontracting on a medium to large size projectu2022 Utilizes established policies, procedures, systems, and toolsu2022 Coordinates the procurement of subcontracted services and administers Procurement Agreements and change orders (modifications) to accomplish project or group objectives and obligationsu2022 Reviews subcontracts-related invoices and ensures that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the subcontract u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in a business, construction, supply chain, or operations management, or equivalent years project experience in lieu of degreeu2022 15+ years of experience in EPCM construction contracting.u2022 8+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects preferredu2022 Experience with managing procurement process, including planning, development of bidder lists, qualifies bidders, prepares requests for quotation, and conducts bid evaluations.u2022 Travel - Anticipated travel 10-20% of the time.Please note: This position is an Onsite Role - 100% onsite at Project Site in Richmond, VirginiaIdeally you'll also have:u2022 Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsu2022 The ability to work and thrive in a team environmentu2022 Strong problem-solving and organizational skillsu2022 A drive to solve complex and challenging problems.u2022 Willingness to indirectly lead and mentor a team of Procurement professionals#LifeSciences, #Bio/Pharma, #EPCMV, #globallifescience#LI-SH1Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
