Bus Driver

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: Operate school bus and othervehicles for the purpose of transporting students and staff to and fromdesignated locations while providing professional and safe services.Position Reports to: President/CEO Qualifications: High school diplomaor equivalent Bilingual speaker (Spanish) preferred but not requiredAbility to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutionsAbility to communicate and effectively interact with children, theirfamily members, management, and staff membersWorks well with others,maintaining positive and effective communication with school personnelCurrent CPR and First Aid Certification Two or more years of experienceworking with children preferred Must have a Commercial Driver's LicenseClean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citationswithin the last five years Clean driving record with no driving underthe influence convictions Must be at least 21 years old Essential JobFunctions/Duties Provide transportation in accordance with academypolicy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws andregulations. Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance withtime schedules and stops. Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloadingof students. Maintain order and discipline on the school bus at alltimes. Perform routine operator maintenance to including but not limitedto: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaningwindshields, and reporting equipment defects. Operate a school bus orother district vehicles safely at all times. Operate vehicles duringinclement weather. Perform other duties as assigned. EnvironmentalConditions: Performs duties with exposure to infectious or communicablediseases inherent to care children, and occasional exposure to loud orunpleasant voices due to unpredictable behavior. Physical and MentalRequirements: Must have ability to sit (75%), walk/stand (25%),routinely throughout the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Musthave functional senses/manual dexterity to carry out the job andcommunicate effectively.
