Position Description: Leads, directsand coordinates the work of subcontractors and/or Turner trade laborwith regard to the Mechanical and Electrical systems included in theproject. Responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality ofwork performed and adherence to budget of the project. TheSuperintendent Mechanical-Electrical has supervisory responsibility forAssistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns and trade labor inhis/her area of responsibility. Reports to: Project Superintendent,Project Manager or MEP Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Specifically relating to the mechanical and/or electrical systems (e.g.HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Low Voltage, Fire Sprinkler): Managing andmaking decisions related to the performance of work related toscheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employeestaffing levels. Managint work among assigned trades to promote acoordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regardingprocedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor andequipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters. Managing theoverall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractorcompliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes andregulations. Supervising and developing Assistant Superintendents, FieldEngineers and/or interns, as assigned, including providing input on orcompleting performance appraisals. Ensure strict adherence to ethics andcompliance requirements at all times. Creating schedules and determiningsequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies tomaintain project schedule and budget. Communicating with owners andarchitects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating andresolving such issues. Managing the billing process as it relates towork in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed,payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with andconforms to the approved contract documents.
