The Associate Director, Facilities andOperations is responsible for providing the vision and leadershipsupport for comprehensive Campus Recreation facilities and directsupervision of staff and student employees in these facilities. Thisposition will oversee operations, inspecting facilities and equipment tomanage upkeep and repair needs. The Associate Director, Facilities andOperations hires, trains, develops, and schedules student employeesthroughout all Campus Recreation facilities, providing oversight of riskmanagement policies and informing staff of all Emergency Action Plans(EAPs). Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide supervision, management,leadership and direct the vision of comprehensive Campus Recreationfacilities, ensuring alignment with student development and wellbeinggoals. Oversee operations, inspecting facilities and equipment to manageupkeep and needed repairs. Monitor and track facilities activity,collecting data on volume, intensity, patterns, populations, andequipment choices of participants. 2. Coordinate the student-staffschedule for all Campus Recreation facilities student employees. Conductweekly student-staff meetings with prepared agendas and handouts, createand implement Staff Training day for all Campus Rec student employees tobest train on policies, procedures and EAPs. 3. Serve on the CampusRecreation Director Leadership Team (DLT ) with the execution ofadministrative duties of considerable scope and complexity. Contributeto the development of the annual report, development of strategic goals,and the assessment of established goals. Regularly prepare activity,attendance and other reports. 4. Schedule and provide support forexternal events including planning, resource support, eventsetup/breakdown, billing/invoicing, contracts and risk management.Coordinate facility access and security. Responsible for the issuance offacility keys, card access, access to the building safe and managing thesecurity camera system in a manner that ensures optimum security. Assistwith the assessment, evaluation and mitigation of risk for allfacilities to ensure compliance with university, local, and statestandards, and follows industry standards. Serve on the departmentalsafety & risk management committee. 5. Provide leadership and mentoringto student-based committees to plan, organize, and implement events andinitiatives. Assist with the coordination of training and developmentfor students, graduate assistants, and full-time staff members. 6.Provide support and oversight of all risk management policies, the EAP ,AED management and organization. Ensure that all fitness operationsfollow industry best practices related to safety and risk management,programming, and equipment. 7. Benchmark industry trends and leadfacility assessment and data collection related to facility andoperations standards including participation, satisfaction, andoutcomes; utilize results to enhance physical layout of CampusRecreation spaces and align programs with a wellness model centered onhealth promotion, prevention, and sustainable healthy habits for allstudents. 8. Collaborate with team members on pool maintenance needs,monitoring work orders to ensure quality levels of maintenance andcustodial support for facilities. 9. Oversee department softwaresystems, serving as the point of contact for troubleshooting, training,and configuration. Maintain a high-level understanding of the variousindustry-specific computerized software & hardware systems; overseeprocurement and implementation, to include but not limited to,membership/program registration platforms, business operations, staffscheduling platforms, etc. 10.
