Snap-on continually strives to bean employer of choice and offers a Great Place to Work. An EngineeringTechnician creates drawings and CNC programs using the provided CAD/CAMsoftware. This individual should also be familiar with CNC basedG-Code/M-Code and should be able to perform post-process editing. AnEngineering Technician should be proficient with Microsoft Officesoftware (Outlook, Excel, and Word). Be able to determine themanufacturing process of a new product from the fixture/work holdingstage to the finish product is essential for this position. 3rd shiftopportunity - 10 pm to 6 am Responsibilities Generate accurateCAD/CAM drawings of parts using supplied print or sketch. GenerateCNC programs from the CAD/CAM software. Great working knowledge andunderstanding of machine tooling and proper usage. Ability to performCNC programming at a machine control, and offline, including the use ofsoftware Generate and maintain information in Excel or Word based offof CNC programs. Control the handling of CNC programs from the serverto CNC machines. Monitor, document and control any changes made toCNC programs. Have general design concepts of fixture or work holdingcomponents. Troubleshoot machining related issues (tooling, machinesand programming) Troubleshoot robots/automation (manipulation & pointsetting). Assist and aid manufacturing Engineering Other duties asassigned by the Engineering Manager. Qualifications High Schooldiploma, or equivalent Prefer a completed certificate, associatedegree or apprenticeship program in CNC machine operations, precisionmachining, machine technology or a related field Five years relatedexperience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education andexperience. This position requires an individual to conveyinformation effectively in writing, presentations or speeches to otheremployees. Two years preferred CAD/CAM experience. Five yearspreferred experience with operation of CNC lathes and/or mills. Fiveyears preferred experience with work holding and fixtures for CNC lathesand/or mills.
