About Us We are a full-service mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and specialty piping contractor that offers design and construction services for a variety of markets. Our customers include commercial, medical, and technology, as well as municipalities and government agencies. Job Summary The Porter Co. seeks a Project Management Intern for Fall 2026. The Project Management Intern will assist the Project Team with coordinating project information on commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. For assigned department. #ECS #LI-Onsite #Porter Essential Duties & Responsibilities + Support Project Manager in driving projectu2019s overall flow effectively from inception to completion. + Assist with project document control, including but not limited to, insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFIu2019s, change orders, correspondence, etc. + Ensure documents are centrally saved in the projectu2019s chosen document control software. + Verify correct drawings are distributed to field. + Support project schedule showing completion, delivery dates and sub requirements. Integrate into overall project and manpower schedule as required or directed by the Project Manager. + Track deliveries of major equipment and subs indicating shipping requirements and anticipating delivery dates. (Request proper delivery notice at that time.) + Coordinate with field personnel to ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted as required. + Gather information for changes in work and turnover to estimating for pricing. + Assist field personnel in closeout of project. + Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Project Manager with recommendation for resolution. + Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. + Perform additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager or Asst. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. + Bacheloru2019s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Science, or a related field; completed or in progress. + Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel) + Familiarity with project management/document control software preferred (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, MS Project). + Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values. + Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. + Must have excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. + Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail. + Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers. + Ability to receive constructive criticism; teachable and trainable. + Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
