Our team and state-of-the-art programs create a world-class health care organization and the destination center for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care with complex structural heart disease and interventions, advanced heart failure service as well as advanced imaging with cutting edge technologies.FTE: .01 Per Diem, Shift: Days, Schedule: 7-5:30Position SummaryThe Echocardiographer (cardiac sonographer) is responsible for obtaining high quality recordings of ultrasound images of the heart and related structures for the cardiologist who will interpret the examination. This is a technical position requiring a highly skilled operator with knowledge of the various types of ultrasound procedures. Work situations require clinical interpretive knowledge, independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in performing procedures. External contacts include patients, family members, and physicians. Internal contacts are basically within the work group.Responsibilities:Performs echocardiographic studies on adult and pediatric patientsCompletes the echocardiography worksheet with quantitative calculations, measurements, and descriptive information acquired while performing the study on each patientPerforms clerical procedures, to include scheduling, answering phones, filing, notification of interpreting cardiologists, preliminary report circulation, material stocking, data basing, and chargingPerforms cleaning and maintenance of ultrasound and other equipmentKnowledge of and a thorough understanding of the physical principles of ultrasound and ultrasound systemsKnowledge of cardiac abnormalities in order to produce diagnostic echocardiogramsSkill in the performance of the technique so as to produce complete anatomic and functional information for the interpreting cardiologistSkill in making quantitative calculations from echocardiograph data obtained while performing the studySkill in interacting and communicating with fellow employees, physicians and patientsSkill in the techniques of CPRSkill in good oral, written and interpersonal communication, grammar and spellingAbility to perform routine quality checks on ultrasound equipmentAbility to work efficiently under pressureAbility to work independently and take initiativeAbility to set priorities and use good judgmentAbility to share on-call hours evening and weekends and be able to work overtime in emergency situationsRequirements:Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a specialty Registration of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS); If RDCS registry eligible, must receive RDCS certification within 12 months of hire or transferRegistered with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) may be substituted for RDCS with the expectation of obtaining ARDMS registry within 12 months of hire or transferBLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI) - American Heart Association or American Red CrossPrevious experience as an Echocardiographer preferredWhy Choose Pulse?Physician-led care - Led by clinicians who understand patient needs firsthand, ensuring decisions are grounded in expertise and collaborationMission-driven - We simplify the complexities of cardiovascular care and put patients at the center of every decisionProven excellence - Pulse units across MultiCare received the 2025 Chest Pain - MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award - the only facilities in Washington to earn this distinctionPeople-first culture - We invest in our teams through professional development, supp
