Sr MS Exchange Systems Engineer 100% ONSITE in Washington DC Per Federal contract U.S. Citizenship or green card Required Must be able to pass enhanced background screen (criminal, financial, drug) for Public Trust clearance Performance Period: 04/26 u2013 12/31/2026 with the possibility of extension. W-2 or C2C Must apply by March 19th Position Requirements: Exchange On-Premises Administration (20%) u2022 Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019/SE infrastructure including mailbox databases, DAGs, and high availability u2022 Perform server maintenance, patching, certificate management, and capacity planning u2022 Troubleshoot mail flow issues, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks u2022 Configure transport rules, connectors, and Client Access Services u2022 Manage integration with Enterprise Vault for legacy archive access Exchange Online Administration (20%) u2022 Administer Microsoft 365 Exchange Online environment and hybrid configuration u2022 Manage mailbox migrations from on-premises to Exchange Online u2022 Configure Exchange Online Protection (EOP), DLP policies, and mail flow rules u2022 Implement retention policies, eDiscovery, and compliance features u2022 Monitor service health and manage M365 compliance requirements u2022 Oversee migration from Enterprise Vault to M365 native archiving/retention Microsoft Teams Administration (25%) u2022 Administer Teams environment including team/channel governance and lifecycle policies u2022 Configure Teams voice features including Direct Routing, calling policies, and phone system u2022 Manage Teams apps, bots, custom integrations, and connector policies u2022 Implement Teams compliance including retention, eDiscovery, communication compliance, and information barriers u2022 Configure guest access, external access, meeting policies, and live events u2022 Troubleshoot Teams connectivity, quality issues, and client problems u2022 Manage Teams device administration (phones, room systems, displays) Email Security & Proofpoint Administration (15%) u2022 Administer Proofpoint Email Security platform and configure filtering policies u2022 Manage threat protection including TAP, URL Defense, and Attachment Defense u2022 Monitor and respond to security incidents and phishing campaigns u2022 Implement and maintain email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM) and encryption u2022 Generate compliance and security reports M365 Ecosystem & Power Platform Support (10%) u2022 Support Power Automate flows integrating with Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint u2022 Assist with Power Platform governance, DLP policies, and connector security u2022 Maintain integration points between SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams u2022 Support automation solutions leveraging M365 services u2022 Understand licensing implications across M365 workloads Automation & Scripting (10%) u2022 Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for Exchange, Teams, and M365 automation u2022 Utilize Microsoft Graph API for advanced automation and reporting u2022 Create bulk operation scripts for user provisioning, migrations, and configuration changes u2022 Automate routine administrative tasks and reporting u2022 Document and maintain script libraries and automation workflows Additional Duties u2022 Participate in on-call rotation to provide Tier 2 support for M365 Platform u2022 Provide Tier 3 support for escalated email and Teams issues u2022 Document configurations, maintain procedures, and train staff u2022 Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams on email and collaboration security initiatives u2022 Assist with M365 governance and adoption planning Required Technology & Experience Experience Requirements u2022 3-5 years email and collaboration platform administration experience u2022 Microsoft Exchange Server (2016 or later) administration experience u2022 Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 administration experience u2022 Microsoft Teams administration experience u2022 Proven experience with hybrid Exchange environments and cloud migrations u2022 PowerShell scripting experience for automation and bulk operations u2022 Email security platform administration (Proofpoint preferred) Preferred Qualifications u2022 Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate (MS-203) u2022 Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700) u2022 Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) u2022 Proofpoint Certified Administrator u2022 Experience with Enterprise Vault administration and EV-to-M365 migrations u2022 Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) u2022 Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.) u2022 Experience with Microsoft Teams voice/calling and Direct Routing u2022 GitHub/version control for script management Desired Soft Skills u2022 Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities u2022 Excellent documentation and communication skills u2022 Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities u2022 Customer service
