OLED Electronics Engineering Co-op (Summer) 2026 Position Summary:The OLED Electronics Engineering Co-op will be responsible for the timely execution and reporting on assigned projects. Assigned projects will focus on at least one of these areas: printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, OLED demonstrator design, assembly, & repair, and writing & debugging OLED demonstration software. Essential Functions: Assembly, inspection, and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Responsibilities include component placement, soldering (through-hole and surface mount), rework, and assisting with quality control procedures Design and prototype custom OLED lighting panel holders for automotive demonstrators using SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360. Utilize FDM 3D printing to fabricate functional prototypes for evaluation and iterative development Maintain and enhance a custom Python-based OLED lighting demonstration software, including GUI improvements, hardware integration, and feature development, while collaborating with UX and engineering teams to support real-time lighting demos and customer-facing tools Follows all safety guidelines/requirements including wearing PPE as required Other duties as assigned, responsibilities and duties may change at any time due to the needs of the organization with or without notice Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. At least 2 years of completed collegecoursework and current student status are required. Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit diagrams. Familiarity with hand soldering and use of common lab tools (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope). Familiarity with 3D CAD and FDM 3D printing technology. Experience writing software in Python and embedded C. The following degrees or areas of study are highly preferred: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Competencies & Skills: Experience working with equipment in a production environment preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Office needed Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and collaborate with others A high attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and customer service is a must Excellent written/verbal communication skills, and critical thinking skills required Must be adaptable through periods of change and growth and be able to multitask based on prioritization and time sensitivity Physical Demands & Work Environment: This position operates within both a production and professional office environment. An individual working in this role routinely is required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, bend, and use various machines and tools. Required to wear and use proper PPE gear if applicable. Specific vision abilities are required for parts of the job to include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position will also sit at a desk and use office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopiers/scanners, and other peripherals. This position may require light lifting in order to move boxes of materials and/or supplies up to 25 pounds. Travel is not required.
