Job Title: Carpenter Apprentice Job Description The Carpenter Apprentice will be responsible for assisting lead carpenters with both rough and finish carpentry on commercial buildings. This includes tasks such as framing buildings, installing windows and doors, and completing the enclosure of the building. Once the framing is finished, the apprentice will move on to finish carpentry tasks, including setting interior doors, cabinets, and trim. Projects include a diverse range of commercial settings such as restaurants, hotels, retail establishments, wellness centers, industrial, and other commercial projects. Responsibilities + Perform general and skilled carpentry tasks on commercial construction sites. + Read and interpret construction plans and project specifications. + Install framing, drywall, doors, windows, trim, and other building components. + Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and crew members. + Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. + Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project quality and efficiency. Essential Skills + 3+ years of construction carpentry experience on commercial or residential projects. + Proficiency in using hand and power tools. + Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly. + Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in rough and finish carpentry. + Knowledge of commercial carpentry techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment requires wearing hard hats, high-visibility vests, safety glasses, and work boots. The standard working hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with the first day starting at 7:30 am at the shop. Employees must provide and maintain their own basic carpentry hand tools, including tape measure, speed square, utility knife, and others. The company provides necessary PPE such as hard hats and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
