Description: The Tactical Infrared Search and Track (TacIRST) Platformu2011Expansion Chief Engineer provides technical leadership for the development, integration, and fielding of infraredu2011threatu2011warning technology across a portfolio of platforms and customers. This position reports to the Advanced Threatu2011Warning Systems (ATWS) programu2011area Chief Engineer and partners with senior engineers, program managers, and the U.S. Government (USG) customer base to ensure seamless delivery of TacIRST capabilities to multiple air vehicles. The work directly impacts waru2011fighter survivability and mission success across services and allied forces. What You Will Be Doing u2022 Provide technical leadership for the TacIRST portfolio u2013 set the overall system architecture and guide end to end integration of hardware and signal processing algorithms. u2022 Drive technical risk management, trade off, and affordability decisions and continuous improvement metrics that keep the program on track. u2022 Partner with the USG customer and internal stakeholders to communicate requirements, risks, trade offs, and lessons learned, and to act as the primary LM point of contact for TacIRST Platform Expansion technical matters. u2022 Mentor talent and promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and Full Spectrum Leadership (technical, people, business, strategic). u2022 Lead technical reviews and ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and safety requirements. u2022 Oversee integration of TacIRST onto diverse platforms (e.g., multiple fighters, UAS, and other air vehicles). u2022 Manage platform specific tailoring while preserving core system performance. u2022 Lead customer briefings, status updates, technical interchange meetings, and readiness reviews. u2022 Ensure appropriate Engineering&Technology (E&T) staffing and resource allocation across the portfolio. u2022 Identify, track, and mitigate technical risks; participate in Failure Review Boards, technical reviews, and Mission Success Reviews. u2022 Capture lessons learned and share best practices across the ATWS Chief Engineer staff. u2022 Provide technical oversight to key suppliers; verify compliance with specifications and schedule commitments and conduct technical reviews at supplier sites when required. u2022 Coordinate cross discipline IPTs to align schedules, interfaces, and milestones. Requirements: u2022 Deliver integrated hardware, algorithm, and software solutions on time and within budget, orchestrating rigorous reviews, risk focused trade studies, and clear communication with customers, suppliers, partners, and senior leadership. u2022 Demonstrate strong influence and communication across capture, program management, and technical stakeholders, driving execution while balancing competing priorities. u2022 Balance affordability, technical performance, and schedule requirements, understanding trade offs and risks of complex engineering projects. u2022 Plan and lead technical solutions from proposal through all development phases and transition to production. u2022 Show a strong understanding of Full SpectrumLeadership (FSL) principles (technical,people,business,strategic). u2022 Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Have a minimum of a bacheloru2019s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, and relevant professional experience. u2022 Proven technicalmanagement of large cross discipline engineering teams in infraredsensor/optics systems. u2022 Working knowledge of subcontractor technical management. u2022 Must be available for occasional domestic travel. u2022 Active Secret clearance. Desired Skills: u2022 An advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is preferred. u2022 Prior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is preferred. u2022 Proven ability to manage flexible manpower across multiple fast turn pursuits, emphasizing adaptability and effective resource allocation. u2022 Familiarity with export controlled (ITAR/EAR) hardware development and CUI handling. u2022 Experience managing subcontractor technical performance and integrating external hardware into system architecture. u2022 Knowledge of Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) principles and a proven track record applying them in a defense technology or aerospace program. u2022 Experience in leading Failure Analysis, Failure Review Boards and root cause investigations. u2022 Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance is preferred Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
