This will be an onsite role for our Houston, TX office u00a0 Job Summary: The Senior Mechanical Estimator independently develops accurate mechanical estimates by reviewing bid documents, conducting detailed material and labor takeoffs, and preparing clear, comprehensive proposals. This role is the primary technical estimator for piping, mechanical, welding, equipment setting, and facility work. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, validating constructability, evaluating vendor quotes, identifying risks and scope gaps, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and execution alignment. The Senior Mechanical Estimator manages multiple bids, maintains disciplined estimating practices, mentor's junior estimators, updates cost data, and supports handoff to project teams. The core objective is to deliver accurate estimates, reduce project risk, and help the company secure profitable, buildable work. u00a0 Primary Job Function: u00b7 Develop complete and accurate mechanical estimates from drawings, specifications, and bid documents. u00b7 Perform detailed takeoffs for piping, welding, equipment, valves, structural components, and mechanical systems. (other applications as required). u00b7 Analyze drawings for constructability issues, scope gaps, and quantity discrepancies. u00b7 Prepare labor build-ups using production rates, craft hours, crew compositions, and historical data. u00b7 Utilize Supply Chain to solicit, evaluate, and normalize vendor and subcontractor quotes. u00b7 Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to assess site conditions and risks. u00b7 Identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and prepare proposal clarifications. u00b7 Coordinate with project managers, engineering, and field teams to validate installation methods and labor assumptions. u00b7 Support value engineering and alternative construction approaches. u00b7 Prepare estimate summaries, cost breakdowns, and pricing sheets for internal review. u00b7 Maintain cost data, unit rates, and historical production information. u00b7 Support conceptual, budgetary, and FEL-level estimates as needed. u00b7 Provide complete estimate logic, quantities, and assumptions during project handoff. u00b7 Supply Project Controls with required cost data for accurate job setup and tracking. u00b7 Manage multiple bids and communicate status updates to leadership. u00b7 Ensure estimate files, calculations, and supporting documents are organized and traceable. u00a0 Required Technical Skills: u00b7 Proficiency in mechanical takeoff methods for piping, welding, equipment, and structural components. u00b7 Strong understanding of piping materials, pressure classes, fittings, and fabrication practices. u00b7 Ability to develop detailed labor estimates using crew makeup and production rates. u00b7 Skilled in reading P&IDs, isometrics, mechanical drawings, and scope documents. u00b7 Experience with unit-rate, resource-based, and detailed line-item estimates. u00b7 Proficiency in estimating software (InEight, HeavyBid, Navisworks, Bluebeam or similar). u00b7 Advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, cost modeling). u00b7 Knowledge of mechanical construction means and methods, including rigging, equipment installation,u00a0 u00a0u00a0hydrotesting, and commissioning. u00b7 Familiarity with ASME, API, and mechanical construction specifications. u00b7 Ability to identify constructability challenges and productivity impacts. u00b7 Understanding indirect costs, equipment rates, consumables, and labor burdens. u00b7 Experience developing conceptual and budgetary estimates with limited information. u00b7 Knowledge of WBS structures, cost codes, and estimate organization for project controls. u00b7 Ability to support schedule alignment and communicate installation durations. u00b7 Ability to apply lessons learned, historical costs, and field production data. u00a0 Nice to Have: u00b7 JD Edwards experience (cost codes,). u00b7 Power BI for estimating KPIs. u00b7 Familiarity with construction scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project). u00b7 Ability to participate in client technical reviews. u00b7 Experience developing manpower loading curves or sequencing plans. u00b7 Field Experience (mechanical/piping/welding experience). u00b7 Experience in Oil, Gas & Midstream industrial estimating and project management. u00a0 Experience: u00b7 5+ years estimating experience in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry. u00b7 Proven experience estimating pipelines, facilities, and terminals. u00a0 Education/Training: u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field preferred. u00b7 Equivalent field experience or 5u201310 years in a similar estimating role accepted. u00b7 Professional certifications such as AACEI CEP, PMP, or ASPE, preferred. u00a0 Competencies: u00b7 Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of estimating methods and tools. u00b7 Collaboration: Works effectively with BD, Operations, Project Controls, and Supply Chain. u00b7 Communication: Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. u00b7 Analytical Judgment: Identifies cost drivers, risks, and productivity impacts. u00a0 Physical Demands: u00b7 Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. u00b7 Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. u00b7 Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crawl. u00b7 Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. u00b7 Requires standard vision abilities for detailed work. u00a0 Other Criteria: u00b7 Occasional travel required. u00b7 Compliance with all company policies, including Drug & Alcohol policy. u00b7 Ability to work safely and collaboratively. u00b7 Must be authorized to work in the United States. u00a0 Sponsorship not available.
