Hacienda CDC, a trusted community development corporation dedicated toempowering individuals and families through affordable housing, holisticservices, and advocacy, is searching for a new Grant Writer with astrong work ethic and exceptional storytelling skills to advance theorganization's mission of supporting our community's needs. When youjoin the Philanthropy Department at Hacienda CDC, you join a team thattakes pride in knowing its work helps the organization succeed andpushes the mission of Hacienda CDC forward. Your primary tasks willinclude collaborating cross-departmentally to understand the variousfunding needs of the organization, researching, identifying, evaluatinggrant opportunities, writing and submitting successful grantapplications, and more. The ideal candidate will already have a proventrack record of writing successful grant applications. They will possessstrong proofreading skills, pay close attention to detail, and be ableto take initiative, prioritize, and meet deadlines. They will thrive incommunity-driven environments and have a deep appreciation and respectfor the diverse communities Hacienda serves. This position's primaryresponsibilities include: Collaborate with Program Directors andExecutive Leadership to understand the funding needs across theorganization. Research, identify, evaluate, and plan grant opportunitiesthat advance Hacienda's missions and programs and meet identifiedfunding needs. Submit successful grant applications, includingsupporting with strategy sessions, creating a timeline for submissions,and writing and finalizing narrative content. Create monthly reports ongrant funding progress, including applications submitted, theiroutcomes, and progress towards annual fundraising goals. Stay current ongrant regulations, guidelines, and trends. Relationship building andstewarding with funders and potential funders. Track and communicategrant reporting deadlines to the Grants, Contract & Data Manager. UseSalesforce to track grant deadlines, submission, and reportingrequirements. Maintain accurate and updated funder profiles and createfunder and donor recognition and year-end donor tax letters. Our idealcandidate must have: A minimum of two years of experience writing grantsindividually. A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing,Communications, or similar fields. Prior experience or knowledge workingin a non-profit setting. Strong writing and storytelling abilities, andable to convey Hacienda's mission with heart and impact. Strongorganizational and time-management skills. The ability to produce workwith correct grammar and structure. Strong interpersonal andrelationship-building skills with a high degree of emotionalintelligence. The ability to be responsive and team-oriented, whofollows up and follows through. The ability to be flexible and adapt tochange within a growing entrepreneurial work environment. Criticalthinking, analytical, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of various fundraising strategies. A driver's license andreliable access to a vehicle.
