Join us and discover the possibilitiesfor your futureCompensation: $675 /credit hourWorksite Location: South CampusCourse/Schedule: Principle of Biology - DaytimeOverview / Job Summary:An Adjunct Instructor works for the college on a part-time basisteaching one or multiple courses during a given semester. However,future courses are not assured. As with all Faculty, the primaryresponsibility of an Adjunct Instructor is to provide the coordination,planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroominstruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible forperforming assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on anyWSU Tech campus/off-campus locations as assigned.Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:- Files an appropriate course syllabus for each course taught within the course shell of the appropriate Learning Management System.- Ensures that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.- Maintains a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulates enthusiasm for those subjects.- Recommends textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to Dean/Director.- Make suggestions to the department Dean/Director, concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the college.- Teaches all classes according to an approved course syllabus, ensuring that assigned classes are held as scheduled. Holds the final exam at the time scheduled unless permission to deviate has been approved by the department Dean/Director.The instructor will create and organize course syllabi for all coursesusing the Learning Management System. Ensures courses have necessarycontent and teaching methods, staying updated in relevant subjects, andinspiring student interest. Evaluates student progress and suggestscurriculum improvements to enhance learning outcomes.Education:- Master's Degreerequired, in one of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Astronomy, or Health Science (Only for Anatomy and Physiology Instructors) Additionally, a Master's Degree with 18 graduate credits in the specified discipline or instruction will meet requirement.Preferred Experience & Skills:- Teaching experience desired, experience in adult educationpreferred.- Must be available for required course assignments.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.- Ability to use personal computer and software applications.Additional Requirements:- Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills- Attention to detail and effective prioritization.- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.- Ability to use personal com uter and software application.WSU Tech is committed to inclusive and equitable practices to create anenvironment and culture where students and employees thrive.
