Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Protect life and property, conduct proactive patrols, auto crash/theft, injury investigations, respond to calls for service, direct traffic, and enforce applicable laws and adhere to established policies + Effect arrests, when necessary on or adjacent to LSUHSC property. + Greet visitors and the public while offering assistance and direction + Accept supervisory responsibility for the LSU Health Sciences Center in the absence of a higher supervisory officer Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational In this position you are required to complete a 13 week Police Officeru2019s Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) academy held in Baton Rouge or Slidell to attain POST Certification. This academy requires the passing of physical fitness training (running, sit-ups, push-ups. etc) firearms training and defensive tactics training in addition to other training. Pay rate is dependent upon applicantsu2019 qualifications. Starting rate of pay is 18.58 for a PO 1, 19.88 for a PO 2 and 21.27 for a PO 3. There is also an additional $2 Premium Pay, $1 Longevity Pay and $2.50 Shift Differential for hours worked only. These positions are in a CPG.
