Mechanical Superintendent Location: Sioux Falls, SD Project Type: Largeu2011Scale Industrial / Food Manufacturing Construction Position Overview The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating field operations on assigned construction scopes to ensure safe, timely, and costu2011effective project execution. This role plans, organizes, and supervises mechanical construction activities, maintaining continuity of progress while maximizing productivity, quality, and safety performance. The Mechanical Superintendent provides direct leadership to subcontractors and field teams, ensuring all mechanical systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and applicable codes. Key Responsibilities + Lead and supervise onu2011site mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, piping, and process mechanical systems + Plan and manage shortu2011term and longu2011term work sequencing to meet contractual milestones + Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment + Enforce site safety programs and promote a strong safety culture across all mechanical scopes + Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with design documents, codes, and standards + Collaborate with project management on schedule updates, productivity tracking, and cost control + Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and rework + Maintain clear communication with field leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders Required Skills + Mechanical construction supervision + Project scheduling and coordination + HVAC systems installation + Mechanical and process piping systems + Construction estimating fundamentals + Strong safety leadership and compliance + Industrial construction experience Top Skills + Construction supervision + Scheduling + Estimation + HVAC systems Education & Experience Requirements One of the following combinations is required: + Bacheloru2019s Degree and 7+ years of construction management or mechanical craft supervision experience + OR + Associate Degree and 9+ years of construction management or mechanical craft supervision experience + OR + High School Diploma / GED and 11+ years of construction management or mechanical craft supervision experience Additional Qualifications + Proven leadership in industrial or largeu2011scale mechanical construction environments + Excellent communication and teamu2011building skills + Strong background in jobsite safety and regulatory compliance + Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex mechanical scopes concurrently Project Environment (Publicly Reported Context) This role supports a major industrial manufacturing facility currently under construction in Sioux Falls, involving: + A 700,000+ squareu2011foot production facility on a large multiu2011acre site + Installation of stateu2011ofu2011theu2011art mechanical, HVAC, and process systems supporting food production + Supporting infrastructure, including process utilities, wastewater treatment, warehouse, and distribution functions + A multiu2011year construction schedule with phased execution and future expansion capability Why This Role This is a longu2011term, highu2011impact opportunity to play a key leadership role on one of the largest industrial construction projects in the region, offering complex mechanical scope, schedule visibility, and strong safety and quality expectations. #sfo26 Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.
