JOB REQUIREMENTS: Upholstery Technician 1in GAC Appleton Unique Skills:A drive to learn upholstery with a positive attitude. Education andExperience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Entry levelposition. preferred. Experience using commercial sewing machines,sergers and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet tradesis preferred. Position Purpose: Under moderate supervision fabricate andinstall upholstery, cover panels, and make simple patterns for aircraftinteriors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specificationsJob Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: EssentialFunctions: Perform technical upholstery functions within design,customer, FAA, and Gulfstream specifications. Specific installation andtrim tasks are to be completed in compliance with work orderinstructions and specifications. Fit panels and windows, cabin headliners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cutand surge carpets, cover bulkheads, fabricate various metal parts, andcovering and installation of panels. Create carpet patterns per designdrawings and complete installation. Use the material tracking system tocreate parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Perform otherduties as assigned. Other Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak,and understand proficiently the English language. Ability to read andinterpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Ability to usemeasuring tools and perform basic math computations. Must be computerliterate. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restrictedareas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift. Must be able to read,write, speak, and understand the English language.
