Safety Engineer (Level 3)

As a Safety Engineer in Marietta, GA, you will apply your knowledge of current health and safety policies, manufacturing processes and regulations to protect employees from injury and reduce damage to property. In this role, you will interact with the employees performing the work, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders to evaluate and develop controls for occupational health risks. Specifically you will: Develop and implement safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Examine plans and specifications for new machinery, tooling, fall protection and facility projects, to identify safety solutions and reduce risk to employees. Partner with assigned programs to inspect equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Lead ergonomic risk initiatives and incident investigations supporting assigned program areas. Provide support as needed for the facility ISO 14001 process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
