This position willevolve over time and requires availability to work mornings, afternoons,evenings, and weekends as PACC is open 7 days a week.Essential Functions:As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, thisclassification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge,skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on thedepartments need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbentby the supervisor.- Oversees and supports the daily operations of adoption, foster, and/or other placement programs, ensuring effective workflows and positive customer experiences;- Provides leadership and front-facing management of placement supervisors and counselors, offering guidance, training, and support to enhance team performance and efficiency;- Delivers exceptional customer service across multiple channels by assisting adopters, fosters, and rescue partners with inquiries, matchmaking, and placement guidance;- Utilizes data tracking and analytics to assess program performance, identify trends, and develop data-driven strategies to improve placement outcomes;- Prepares and presents reports on placement activities, program success, and areas for improvement;- Provides specialized animal handling for dogs with varying behavioral backgrounds, utilizing appropriate techniques to ensure safety and assess behavior to support safe placements, addressing the individual needs of each animal;- Provides informed placement recommendations for dogs, including those with behavioral or medical challenges, and participates in euthanasia decision discussions by assessing placement options while prioritizing public safety, animal welfare, and shelter capacity;- Provides ongoing support and education to fosters and adopters, including resources on animal care, behavior, and integration into homes;- Supports the coordination of placement-focused events, including adoption and foster promotions, community engagement events, and off-site adoption opportunities;- Maintains accurate records of animal placements, communications, and interactions in the shelter database to ensure transparency and tracking of outcomes;- Assists in the development and implementation of strategies to increase placements, including targeted promotions, marketing campaigns, and community outreach;- Collaborates with internal teams, including medical, Animal Protection Services, and shelter operations, to ensure animals are prepared for placement and their needs are met;- Ensures compliance with shelter policies and procedures, including safety protocols and personnel responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with amajor in public or business administration or a field closely related tothe program area, as determined by the appointing authority AND twoyears of progressively responsible program administration experience orexperience directly related to the nature of the program.(Relevant professional level experienc and/or education from anaccredited college or university may be substituted.)OR:Three years of experience with Pima County as an Animal CareTechnician or Animal Care Field Officer.OR:One year as an Animal Care Placement Supervisor.Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the
