Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Morrisonville, NY

This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in an acute inpatient progressive care unit, focusing on patients requiring close cardiac and respiratory monitoring. The position is based in Morrisonville, NY, and entails a contract assignment with potential to float to related units as part of a resource team.Key Responsibilities:Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac conditions, including acute coronary syndrome, post-PTCA/stent care, and heart failure.Monitor patients on telemetry, manage cardiac drips, insulin drips, and perform post-cardiac catheterization itiate IVs, perform EKGs, and adhere to unit-specific protocols including sedation monitoring and thrombolytic therapy.Collaborate with ancillary staff such as CNAs, telemetry technicians, and secretaries to ensure comprehensive patient care.Participate in orientation (1-2 days) and maintain ACLS and BLS certification standards.Adhere to documentation guidelines via EPIC and medication administration using MAK systems.Work scheduled shifts with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:3, typically day and night 7-hour rotations, including alternating weekends and holiday coverage.Qualifications & Desired Experience:Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with at least 1 year clinical experience in a stepdown or progressive care setting.Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.Experience with cardiac monitoring and advanced hemodynamic support strongly preferred.Familiarity with telemetry, cardiac drips, and insulin therapy critical.Ability to float to appropriate units as needed.Location Overview:Located in Morrisonville, New York, this community provides a comfortable living environment with access to a mix of scenic outdoor activities and local amenities.
