CVOR Registered Nurse | Athens, Wisconsin

A registered nurse with CVOR experience is sought for a contract position in Athens, WI, to support a busy cardiovascular operating room team. This role requires advanced clinical skills in circulating during complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including daVinci Xi lung cases, open heart surgeries, valve replacements, TAVR, thoracotomies, and peripheral vascular cases. Additional procedures involve C-sections, laparoscopic appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and bowel resections. Candidates will function primarily in circulator roles; scrubbing is required, but RN scrubbing is not expected.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Current RN licensureACLS and BLS certifications mandatoryExperience circulating in Cardiovascular and Thoracic OR casesAbility to assist with peripheral vascular cases, C-sections, and general surgery preferredFamiliarity with Cerner EMR system a plusPrevious work at this medical center requires a 6-month gap before reapplicationLocation:Athens, Wisconsin, offers a blend of small-town living with access to natural landscapes and outdoor activities. Residents enjoy a welcoming community atmosphere with convenient access to local amenities.Responsibilities:Circulate during cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries as well as general surgery casesCollaborate with charge nurses, OR techs, and surgical teams in a 16-suite department (2 suites dedicated to CVOR)Adhere to strict call response times (30-45 minutes depending on call team)Participate in floating to the Outpatient Surgery Center when requiredComplete comprehensive department orientation including 2-3 days with an educator plus 1-2 weeks of case-specific trainingComply with clock-in/out policies at the facilitySchedule and Hours:Primarily day shifts: 0700-1530, 1730, or 1930One week of PM shifts (1500-2330) approximately every five weeksNight shift (2300-0700) possible with experienceChoice between 8-hour or 10-hour shifts; 12-hour shifts possible on subsequent contractsCall requirements include 1-2 weeknights, 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks, and at least one holiday per yearAdditional Details:Provided navy blue scrubs via Cintas vending at no costThe department is staffed 24/7 with a minimum of one RN and one surgical techA charge RN is always present in the ORThis is a contract opportunity with competitive local rates for candidates living within 80 miles (note client rate adjustments apply)If you have strong CVOR nursing skills and thrive in a demanding surgical environment, consider this contract role in Athens, WI.
