This position serves as one of Wellbridge’s primary general medical clinicians and works closely with an interdisciplinary group responsible for the day-to-day operation throughout our campus to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE:Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all Wellbridge patientsWork collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to oversee the development of personalized treatment plans for each individual Wellbridge patientReceptive to and a driver of innovation through implementation of approaches, capitalizing on technology, integration of research and educating all staffMaintain understanding of current treatments, knowledge, and practices in addiction careSupport strategic efforts to identify opportunities for translational medicine and innovationCollaborate with Wellbridge research team to develop a measurement-based care system to guide program improvementParticipate in routine clinical team meetingsWork closely with the advocacy, residential, and legal teams to coordinate services to patientsResponds in a timely fashion to staff concernsMeet with the program leadership team to review issues affecting patient care, patient satisfaction, and general operations and performanceAssist with community presentations, as applicableManage and promote relationship with academic and research institutions to promote addiction research and training for nurses and nurse practitionersMaintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision and values.OTHER DUTIES: This job description is intended toprovidegeneral guidance and not designed to cover orcontaina comprehensive list of relevant activities, duties or responsibilities that arerequired ofthe employee for this job. Duties,responsibilitiesand activities may change at any time, with or without notice. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ability to assess medical needs and provide patient care. For patient care needs, this is an on-site role. Consistently move self about patient care areas. Occasionally lift and move medical equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to verbally communicate related to patient care. Consistent computer and phone, general office equipment use. Update medical records while in a stationary position up to 30% of the time.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies required. MA preferred.Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York Staterequired. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification preferred.BLS, required. ACLS or other certification, as required by department. Certifications must be obtained within one (1) month of employment.Demonstrate an understanding of clinical riskDemonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skillsClinical experience providing treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in an inpatient or residential environment
