Job SummaryGalapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified individual to serve as a Space and Cyber Range Architect, SME. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented team dedicated to advancing mission success.The selected candidate will provide contractor support as a Space and Cyber Range Architect to the Space Systems Command (SSC), System Delta (SYD) 81 Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Program Office, supporting the Live and Physical Range Cyber Range Section.In this role, the architect will support the development and implementation of live and physical training capabilities, including the design and architecture of a cyber range environment to support the testing, evaluation, and training of U.S. Space Force cyber capabilities. The position will involve designing scalable range architectures, integrating cyber and space mission systems, and ensuring the range environment supports operational testing and realistic training scenarios.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Space and Cyber Range Architect, SME will:Design and develop end-to-end cyber range environments, including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based architecturesDevelop network topologies that replicate enterprise, tactical, and operational environments for realistic training and testingArchitect and implement virtualized and containerized infrastructures to support flexible and scalable range operationsDefine range segmentation, isolation, and security boundaries to ensure secure and controlled testing environmentsProduce and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation supporting system design and implementationDesign and integrate realistic adversary emulation capabilities to support cyber operations training and testingIntegrate red team and blue team tools within the cyber range environmentSupport cyber exercise scripting, scenario development, and training event designOptimize cyber range environments to support multiple concurrent users and complex training exercisesEnsure systems and infrastructure are scalable to support large-scale operational exercisesTranslate mission and operational requirements into technical architecture solutionsCollaborate with training developers, cyber operators, engineers, and program managers to ensure mission alignmentProvide technical briefings and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholdersSupport technical evaluations of vendor and contractor proposals related to cyber range developmentPlan and manage system upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, and software updatesDevelop and maintain technology modernization and upgrade road maps for cyber range capabilitiesSkills and ExperienceThe Space and Cyber Range Architect, SME must have:Active Top Secret security clearance15+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or projects, preferably in cyber operations, range architecture, or mission systems engineeringStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex technical environmentsDemonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlinesSelf-motivated professional capable of working independently with minimal supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiencesProven ability to develop innovative technical solutions and communicate complex information in a clear and concise mannerStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadershipAbility to operate autonomously while maintaining strong coordination with team members and stakeholdersEducation and CertificationsThe Space and Cyber Range Architect, SME must meet the following:RequiredMaster’s degree and/or relevant job experience in being a staff officerBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTOPaid Parental leaveTuition reimbursementPaid federal holidaysSecurity ClearanceMust be a U.S. Citizen.A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required for this position.
