Concrete Laborer

Job Title: Concrete Laborer Pay: $25-$35/hour Shift: 6:00AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday Location: Greater Syracuse Area Job Description We are seeking experienced concrete masons to join our team, working on utility construction projects in Syracuse, NY. As part of one of the area's largest utility contractors, you will work on projects ranging from small sub-station repairs to new sub-station construction. This role requires a strong ability to finish concrete flatwork on large commercial construction projects. Responsibilities + Layout and set forms to correct depth and pitch. + Install rebar and prepare subgrade. + Place, spread, and finish concrete using hand and power tools. + Operate mechanized finishing equipment for large slabs. + Ensure proper curing and protection of concrete surfaces. + Maintain floor flatness. + Manage crew (for foreman roles), schedules, and coordinate material deliveries. + Enforce safety regulations and quality standards. + Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times. + Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe handling of tools and materials. + Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment. Essential Skills + Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial flatwork and concrete form work. + Ability to finish concrete flatwork on large commercial projects. + Experience with excavator, dozer, grading, GPS dozer, site construction, land clearing, road construction, skid steer operation, excavator operation, construction labor, substation construction, and utility construction. + Reliable transportation. Work Environment Work is 100% outdoors, in a team with a crew size ranging from 1-2 up to 10 members, reporting to a foreman or project superintendent. The typical shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30/3:45 pm, with occasional Saturday work and overtime ranging from 2-20 hours per week. Conditions include various weather scenarios such as rain, snow, cold, heat, and wind, provided they are not hazardous. Candidates must be willing to work overtime and assist in labor aspects of site construction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brewerton, NY.
