Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires expertise in overseeing complex financial operations, supporting month-end processes, and managing cost center budgets. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in government grants and billing. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. u2022 Oversee and analyze budget versus actual expenses across approximately 20 cost centers. u2022 Assist in finalizing annual budgets and ensuring accurate financial reporting. u2022 Handle monthly billing processes based on individual cost center expenditures. u2022 Track and report on government grants to ensure compliance and proper allocation. u2022 Reconcile bank accounts and review general ledger entries for accuracy. u2022 Collaborate with the accounting manager to address financial discrepancies and optimize reporting. u2022 Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. u2022 Prepare and present detailed reports summarizing financial activities and variances. u2022 Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in month-end close and financial reporting processes. u2022 Strong proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries. u2022 Expertise in account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with budgeting and cost center management. u2022 Knowledge of government grants and compliance requirements. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
