Field Service Technician

Job Title: Service Technician Job Description We are seeking two entry-level Service Technicians to join our team in the Eastern Iowa / Davenport area. Our company specializes in electrical apparatus repair, focusing on large industrial generators, pumps, and motors. We provide on-site solutions and serve as a distributor for power systems. As a Generator Specialist, you will offer technical services for generator equipment and automatic transfer switches, performing oil changes, filter replacements, and belt replacements, as well as diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing fuel systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Responsibilities + Perform on-site service, installation, and commissioning of new generators and transfer switches. + Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance and start-ups on generator equipment and automatic transfer switches. + Perform warranty work on power generation equipment. + Process required paperwork within deadlines. + Maintain part inventory of service truck. + Participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on-call technician rotation. Essential Skills + Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge. + Ability to be self-sufficient and travel from job site to job site. + Ability to maintain accurate service records and provide detailed reports on work performed. + Troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installation skills. + Degree relating to diesel and/or natural gas engines, generators, and automatic transfer switches; OR 2 years of experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in electrical and mechanical repair. + Field service experience. + Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, with frequent travel to customer locations for on-site repairs.
