This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about data and AI, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a client-facing, consultative sales environment.Key Responsibilities:u25cf Technical Pre-Sales and Discovery:u25cb Support our key accounts and account teams as well as field sales teamsu25cb Collaborate with Account Executives to qualify sales opportunities and conduct in-depth discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their current data landscape, business objectives, pain points, and technical requirements.u25cb Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights and guidance on data strategy, governance, architecture, traditional analytics, machine learning, and the strategic application of Generative AI.u25cb Quarterback technical pursuits identifying when to leverage the extended team of industry and technical experts to bring the right resources to the pursuit.u25cf Solution Design and Presentation:u25cb Design and articulate tailored data and Generative AI solutions that align with client needs and leverage our consulting capabilities. This may include proposing solutions for:u25a0 Architecting and optimizing data pipelines and data warehouses on Databricks and cloud platformsu25a0 Data ingestions strategiesu25a0 Business Intelligence and Data Visualization integrationsu25a0 AI/ML integration and MLOps, with a strong focus on ML model training, deployment, and governance within Databricksu25a0 Generative AI use cases (e.g., custom LLM development, RAG implementations, prompt engineering strategies, AI agent frameworks, fine-tuning open-source models) specifically demonstrating how these can be built and deployed effectivelyu25a0 Cloud data and AI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), emphasizing the native integrations and optimal deployment patterns for Databricks.u25cb Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, platform demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) demonstrating the capabilities to diverse audiences, including technical stakeholders and business leaders.u25cb Translate complex technical concepts (including advanced AI/ML, GenAI, and specific Databricks features) into clear, concise, and business-relevant language.u25cf Proposal Development:u25cb Contribute to the development of detailed technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client requirements for data solutions.u25cb Estimate effort and resource requirements for proposed data solutions, leveraging knowledge of typical workload patterns and best practices.u25cb Coordinate with delivery and operations management to streamline scoping and estimation capabilities including the development of the estimation document and processu25cb Develop an understanding of the IBM estimation process and tools and incorporate that into the Hakkoda framework.u25cf Market and Industry Expertise:u25cb Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the data space, with a strong focus on Databricks product roadmaps, new features, and competitive positioning.u25cb Develop relationship with Databricks Solution engineering teams, collaborating on new solutions and product developmentsu25cb Develop relationship with partner organizationsu25cf Cross-Functional Collaboration:u25cb Work closely with the consulting delivery teams to ensure a smooth hand-off from pre-sales to project execution and to provide feedback from client engagementsu25cb Collaborate with marketing to develop technical sales enablement content and collateralu25cb Collaborate with Asset and Delivery teams to understand GenAI asset catalog and applicability to the pre-sales and delivery process.u25cf Client Relationship Management:u25cb Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations, fostering trust and credibility as an expert in data.This job may be performed from anywhere in the US Required technical and professional expertise Qualifications:u25cf Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.u25cf 4+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or consulting role, specifically focused on data solutions, with a strong emphasis on AI/ML.u25cf Demonstrated deep technical expertise and hands-on experience with Databricksu25cf Good technical understanding of Generative AI concepts and technologies, including:u25cb Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications, with an understanding of how they integrate with Databricksu25cb Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, with an understanding of how to implement these using vector databases integrated with Databricks.u25cb Prompt engineering best practices.u25cb Fine-tuning and deployment of generative models on cloud platforms, including considerations for Databricks environments.u25cb Familiarity with Generative AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers) in the context of Databricks.u25cb Hands-on experience with cloud-based GenAI services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Service, Google Cloud Vertex AI) and their integration with Databricks as the data foundation.u25cf Deep technical expertise in at least several of the following areas:u25cb Data Warehousing and Data Lake architectures.u25cb ETL/ELT tools and methodologies.u25cb Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense).u25cb SQL proficiency and experience with various database systems (relational, NoSQL, vector databases).u25cb Cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) - certifications are a strong plus, especially specific Databricks certifications.u25cb Data Governance, Data Quality, and Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.u25cb Programming languages such as Python or Scala for data manipulation/analysis and AI model development within Databricksu25cf Proven ability to articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.u25cf Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.u25cf Strong problem-solving abilities and a consultative approach to sales.u25cf Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
