The Housing Placement Supervisor oversees a team of case managers whoare providing stabilization services to clients living in the community.The goal of the program is to help tenants maintain housing/preventreturn to homelessness and ensure they secure permanent housing beforethey graduate from PSI services. The HPS will work collaborativelyacross the agency to make actionable decisions on client enrollment andindividual service plans that will lead to rapid, safe, affordablehousing with the supports necessary to retain achieved housing. The HPSwill work within a best practice framework of Harm Reduction,Trauma-Informed Care and Housing First and ensures exceptional customerservice. The Housing Placement Supervisor (HPS) will work assertivelywith brokers, landlords, government agencies, and property managementcompanies to cultivate, develop and maintain all housing options in andaround Boston. Leveraging all available housing search resources andexpanding to right ?size the number of properties for this initiative, avirtual clearing house of available properties inside and around Bostonwill be established so that guests can be quickly matched to appropriateproperties. The Supervisor monitors service quality ensures accurate andtimely data entry into our homeless management information system (HMIS)and collaborates across departments to meet housing placement goals.This role also supports program development, policy implementation, andcommunity partnership engagement, helping to eliminate barriers tohousing and improve client outcomes. BSW, BA or BS in human servicesrelated field or High School diploma with 3+ years of equivalentexperience in a social service setting 2?3 years in direct service withvulnerable populations experiencing homelessness Experience in HomelessServices 2-3 years of experience delivering services for a challengedpopulation struggling with addiction and untreated or under-treatedmental health concerns Strong computer and math skills includingfamiliarity with MS Word, Excel and the ability to learn andsuccessfully use MIS & HMIS programs Practical experience in creatinghousing plans and individual service plans, client assessments,diversion, mediation, negotiation, Motivational Interviewing, TraumaInformed Care, crisis prevention and intervention, household budgeting,rapid re-housing and service planning, recovery services ? includingmental health, substance use/abuse and traumatic brain injury Experiencein client assessment, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing,negotiation, household budgeting, and housing/community referrals, casemanagement and service planning Knowledge of the issues related tohomelessness and housing Working knowledge of human services systems,housing subsidy programs and homeless referral networks 1?2 years in asupervisory or team leadership role Bi-lingual Spanish or Haitian-Creolelanguage capacity Strong knowledge of housing systems, case management,and community resources Experience with HMIS (Clarity), motivationalinterviewing, and trauma-informed practices Working Knowledge of HousingFirst and Rapid Rehousing Experience accessing local housingopportunities and subsidy programs for homeless individuals 2+ years ofleadership and/or supervisory experience Experience navigating systemsof housing and care for homeless individuals Experiencespeaking/presenting in front of medium to large size groups Knowledge ofmotivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, harm reduction
