Reference #: 27418139Marine Diesel EngineerPosition Summary:As Marine Engineer, you will support diesel engine propulsion systems and ship service diesel generators onboard Navy surface ships and Submarines/Aircraft Carriers and work alongside program managers, engineers and Navy personnel.A BS in Marine Engineering from an ABET institution is required, other degrees will not be considered.Clearance Specifications:Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearanceEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Diesel engine data analysis/trending/reporting, logistics development, project planning, training support, test plan and procedure development and meeting/presentation support.Conduct ship visits (inspections and data collection).Diesel Engine calibration and governor control verificationTroubleshooting diesel propulsion and generation systemsInstallation support for new system upgrades onboard US Navy ships and SubmarinesPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Education, Skills, and Experience:BS in Marine Engineering, other degrees will not be considered.Up to 5 years' experience in diesel engine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting u00a0recent grads from Maritime Academy preferredShipboard experience desiredExcellent communication skillsWorks well in a team environmentPhysical Demands and Expectations:Willingness to travel up to 25% of the timeRegular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and prolonged sittingAbility to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistanceAbility to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipmentThis position description represents a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
