ALLIANCE FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS, INC. SERVICE COORDINATOR (Compensation $43,000-$46,000 depending on experience) ABOUT US The Alliance For Infants and Toddlers, Inc. was established in 1988 by a federal grant to assist families of low-birth-weight infants. In 1996, The Alliance was chosen by Allegheny County as the Early Childhood Intervention Service Coordination Agency for families of children, aged from birth to three years, who have developmental concerns. In April of 2022, The Alliance was elected as the Early Intervention Service Coordination Agency to serve children residing throughout Beaver County. Early Intervention is a variety of supports and services designed to build and enhance the natural learning that occurs in the early years. Support and services are provided in the home, childcare site, and other community settings identified by the family. Any child from birth to three years old living in Allegheny County or Beaver County is eligible for a developmental evaluation through Early Intervention. I. JOB DEFINITION This individual will provide service coordination throughout Allegheny County for families with children who are eligible for Early Intervention under PA Act 212. Work is performed with a considerable degree of initiative and independent judgment in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures. The position reports directly to the Team Supervisor who provides general guidance around program issues and evaluates the effectiveness of the Service Coordinatoru2019s activities. II. RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Provide explanation of Early Intervention Services to families in Allegheny County. u2022 Coordinate and schedule screenings and assessments. u2022 Identify and coordinate community resources and services beneficial to child and family. u2022 Coordinate with medical and health providers. u2022 Monitor child and family needs through use of appropriate instruments and family interviews. u2022 Provide parent education and support. u2022 Facilitate and participate in the development and review of the Service Coordination Plan and the Individualized Family Service Plan. u2022 Monitor delivery of Early Intervention Services through regular contact with family and communication with service providers. u2022 Explain parentu2019s rights and procedural safeguards. u2022 Initiate the development of a transition plan to pre-school services. u2022 Conduct and attend meetings as necessary. u2022 Attend and participate in team meetings, staff meetings, internal and external training and conferences in order to meet required 24 hours of annual training. u2022 Maintain expected level of productivity. u2022 Complete all necessary documentation and submission of paperwork within agency timelines. u2022 Adhere to the agencyu2019s requirement for office attendance during and after the training period. III. QUALIFICATIONS A. PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES u2022 Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of children with developmental delays and conditions that put a child u201cat risku201d. u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of child development. u2022 Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the Early Intervention Program in PA. u2022 Ability to administer and interpret child and family assessment instruments. u2022 Ability to maintain records and documents in an accurate and orderly manner according to agency policies and procedures. u2022 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, staff, physicians and other community service agencies. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. u2022 Ability to manage email, navigate the internet and effectively utilize a web-based data system to manage caseload information. u2022 Possess adequate computer and typing skills. B. JOB REQUIREMENTS u2022 Possess a reliable motor vehicle and a valid PA motor vehicle license. u2022 Have Acts 33, 34 & FBI clearances. u2022 Be able to work at floor level with young children. u2022 Be able to lift and handle young children. u2022 Meeting Education and Experience Requirements C. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, family counseling, family studies, psychology or other comparable social science field and one year of related experience OR Associate degree in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, family counseling, family studies, psychology or other comparable social science field and three years of related experience IV. LOCATION AND TRAVEL u2022 Service Coordinators report to the home office at 2801 Custer Avenue for the first four weeks of employment for training and on an as-needed basis. u2022 Service Coordinators will be servicing families throughout Allegheny County u2022 Service Coordinators must possess a reliable motor vehicle and a valid PA motor vehicle license and be able to travel to clients daily.
