Custodian III

Billings School District 2 is seeking a part-time Custodian III to perform as working supervisor of a custodial operation and exercise supervision over custodial personnel.Hours: Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.Wage: $20.50 per hour for 90 working-day probationary period, then $22.78 per hour.Benefits: Vacation/Sick Leave; PERS Retirement.Duties may include but are not limited to:u2022 Collect and dispose of garbage.u2022 Sweep and dust mop rooms.u2022 Clean, repair, change filters and other equipment under the supervision of head custodian.u2022 Strip and scrub floors.u2022 Finish and refinish all types of floors.u2022 Grounds care and irrigation.u2022 Dust rooms and furniture.u2022 Wet mop.u2022 Clean sinks.u2022 Wash walls.u2022 Clean lights.u2022 Move furniture, supplies, books, etc.u2022 Clean woodwork.u2022 Clean school grounds.u2022 Replace light tubes and bulbs.u2022 Wash interior and exterior glass.u2022 Pest control.u2022 Paint floors.u2022 Wash exterior of the building.u2022 Housekeeping equipment care.u2022 Shovel snow.u2022 Buff floors.u2022 Clean bathrooms daily.u2022 Assist head custodians in boiler operation and other like duties as required.u2022 Clean chalkboards and erasers.u2022 Report to head custodians any damage, malfunctions of equipment, and any other information needed by head custodian.u2022 Act as a substitute for head custodian.u2022 Perform duties and related tasks in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with the Billings Public Schools safety policies and in compliance with the Montana Safety Culture Act.u2022 Perform other related duties as requested by head custodian and/or administrator.Minimum Requirements:u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; andu2022 Minimum of one year of experience in custodial work; oru2022 Any equivalent combination of education and experience.u2022 Possess a working knowledge of cleaning equipment, machinery and supplies, cleaning techniques.u2022 Possess some knowledge of supervision.u2022 Able to perform heavy physical activity.u2022 Able to operate cleaning equipment and machinery.u2022 Able to maintain effective work relationships.u2022 Able to communicate effectively.u2022 Able to deal with public.u2022 Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and paid for by the District.Equal Opportunity Employer.
