This position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana, with an anticipated start date ofJanuary 5, 2026. Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must be doctorally prepared and hold an unencumbered, Louisiana license as a registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse and have current certification or recertification as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Applicants must have administrative/leadership experience and experience in teaching in a nurse anesthesia educational program. Applicants must have experience in building practice-educational partnerships with teaching experience at the doctoral nursing level is preferred. Applicants must show evidence of ongoing scholarly activity, adeptness at on line educational technology, and be eligible to serve as a member of Northwestern State University's Graduate Faculty. Advises applicants interested in the program and students enrolled in the program regarding curriculum and APDG requirements. u2022Coordinates the delivery of quality didactic, simulation, and clinical learning experiences between two campuses and multiple clinical agencies. u2022Actively participates in University and College of Nursing committees. u2022Engages in scholarly activities appropriate to the academic role. u2022Ensures all graduates are educationally prepared to take the NBCRNA certification examination. u2022Actively engages in CRNA practice, professional development activities, and in scholarly activities appropriate to the discipline. u2022Provides quality advising of students during required hours and at other times and settings as established by the Program Director, Senior Director, Dean, Provost, or President. u2022Maintains collegial relationship with peers and colleagues throughout the University and community. u2022Teaches all classes in a manner that will fully promote academic excellence. u2022Provides instruction in areas of expertise. u2022Maintains good attendance and office hours. u2022Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to domain of learning. u2022Coordinates the development, evaluation and revision of curriculum, and policies and procedures within the Nurse Anesthesia Program. u2022Works with University's external affairs, CONSAH Grant Director, as well as community partners to establish ongoing funding sources to support nurse anesthesia student scholarships/stipends. u2022Provides quality education, advising, role-modeling of the nurse anesthetist professional role. u2022Fulfills other required duties of the department.
