Billing Specialist / Payroll Clerk

Our client, a reputable transportation company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist / Payroll Clerk to join their team. As a vital member of the finance department supporting payroll and billing operations, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach to financial management, aligning successfully within a collaborative and respectful work environment. Job Title: Billing Specialist / Payroll Clerk Location: Quincy, IL Pay Range: $16-$21 (DOE) Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm What's the Job? Manage payroll processing using systems such as Mcleod to ensure timely and accurate employee payments. Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions with precision utilizing accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms. Perform high-accuracy data entry for payroll, billing, and financial transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Maintain detailed and compliant records of payroll data, benefits administration, and financial transactions. Support human resources functions related to payroll and benefits by providing relevant data and analysis to ensure smooth operations. What's Needed? Proven experience with payroll management systems and financial recordkeeping. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent financial management tools. Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
