Job Description: Construction Management Lead Role Overview: Leads the construction management work process discipline, demonstrating core competencies in directing teams, staffing, planning, and controlling projects. Ensures that facility construction meets Environment, Health and Safety (EHandS), quality, cost, and scheduling requirements as set by the business. At this level, the Construction Management Lead typically oversees several intermediate site-executed projects or a single large project. The role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in the discipline, broadening professional capabilities. Responsibilities & Duties: + Champion the use of construction safety best practices, promoting a zero-incident safety culture across all contracts. + Lead and manage the construction management staff for specific projects, providing visible and proactive leadership in safety, quality, schedule, and cost. + Develop construction management plans to identify resource needs for each project, ensuring alignment with budgets and collaborating with project managers and resource leaders as needed. + Provide construction expertise during the Front End Loading (FEL) phase, minimizing costs through effective planning, technology application, and constructability techniques. + Offer input and guidance to contract labor strategy, manage construction companies and labor contracts, resolve claims, and monitor labor costs. + Understand and utilize the Global Capital Work Process (GPM) Construction Work Process discipline, leveraging construction expertise networks. + Assist in the development of integrated construction schedules, ensuring timelines are met and promptly communicating discrepancies. + Minimize start-up and operability issues using robust quality plans. + Coach and mentor new and less experienced construction personnel. + Apply in-depth knowledge of internal and external standards, industry practices, and constructability processes to project-specific situations. + Drive the adoption of best practices and innovative technologies within projects. + Provide continuous improvement feedback to business technology centers and hardware disciplines regarding the most effective technology (MET) to enhance safety, cost efficiency, and productivity for future projects. Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + Relevant experience in construction management, engineering, or a related industry.
