Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio. This is a contract-to-permanent position that requires working onsite Monday through Friday, with extended hours during peak periods from May to July. The role involves managing payroll for a diverse workforce of approximately 500 employees, including union and non-union staff, using Paycom software. Responsibilities: u2022 Process payroll for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. u2022 Set up new employee profiles in Paycom, verifying all required data entries. u2022 Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and wage assignments efficiently. u2022 Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and guidelines. u2022 Update employee records, including changes in status and benefits, within the payroll system. u2022 Reconcile payroll-related sales and use taxes. u2022 Prepare and maintain detailed payroll documentation and reports. u2022 Address employee questions and concerns regarding payroll, deductions, and tax matters. u2022 Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure smooth payroll operations. u2022 Support payroll audits and year-end reporting processes. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably for organizations with 500+ employees. u2022 Proficiency in Paycom payroll software is mandatory. u2022 Familiarity with both union and non-union payroll management. u2022 Knowledge of garnishments, complex deductions, and sales/use tax in payroll. u2022 Strong commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. u2022 Excellent organizational and communication skills. u2022 Availability to work onsite Monday through Friday and overtime during peak periods. u2022 Experience in full-cycle and multi-state payroll processes is highly desirable.
