DescriptionAmazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead our open-source streaming services portfolio. You will own three critical services: Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, and Amazon Data Firehose. These services enable customers to build and run applications that ingest, process, and deliver streaming data at scale. We are looking for a leader who is enthusiastic about data streaming, passionate about contributing to open source, and driven to solve real customer business needs at AWS scale. Key job responsibilities As Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for product strategy, engineering execution, and overall business results across our streaming services portfolio. You will apply relentlessly high standards to lead the development of purpose-built, large-scale systems. You will need to think strategically, innovating on behalf of customers while remaining deeply connected to execution. You will lead geographically distributed teams to build and operate next generation high-performance streaming data systems that deliver real-time ingestion, storage, processing, and delivery for large-scale applications. You will own the you will own the P&L for the services, the product roadmap, engineering development, and service operations for Amazon MSK, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, and Amazon Data Firehose. Since these services are used in conjunction with many other systems, the team you lead will help customers build applications that use multiple AWS offerings. You will work closely with senior AWS leaders and the leaders of other AWS services, particularly within AWS Data and Analytics, AWS Serverless, and AWS Storage. The team you lead will deliver innovation that simplifies and improves the way customers build large-scale real-time applications. Your portfolio spans both open-source streaming technologies (Apache Kafka and Apache Flink) and AWS-native streaming solutions (Data Firehose), positioning you to own the complete streaming data lifecycleu2014from ingestion through processing to delivery. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
