Our client, a reputable transportation company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist / Payroll Clerk to join their team. As a vital member of the finance department supporting payroll and billing operations, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach to financial management, aligning successfully within a collaborative and respectful work environment. Job Title: Billing Specialist / Payroll Clerk Location: Quincy, IL Pay Range: $16-$21 (DOE) Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm What's the Job? + Manage payroll processing using systems such as Mcleod to ensure timely and accurate employee payments. + Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions with precision utilizing accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms. + Perform high-accuracy data entry for payroll, billing, and financial transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations. + Maintain detailed and compliant records of payroll data, benefits administration, and financial transactions. + Support human resources functions related to payroll and benefits by providing relevant data and analysis to ensure smooth operations. What's Needed? + Proven experience with payroll management systems and financial recordkeeping. + Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. + Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent financial management tools. + Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
