Accounting Assistant

Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in South Dennis, Massachusetts. In this role, you will support tax payment processing and perform light accounting tasks while providing excellent customer service to residents. This position requires strong numerical skills and the ability to handle cash responsibly in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Process tax payments made via cash and check with accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Maintain and balance the cash drawer to ensure proper accounting of funds. u2022 Deliver exceptional customer service to residents in person, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally. u2022 Open, review, and sort incoming mail, ensuring all relevant documents are processed. u2022 Research and input check details into the company's database with precision. u2022 Assist with basic accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations to verify and correct financial records. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks to code invoices and manage financial data. u2022 Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to deadlines. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. u2022 Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and financial recordkeeping. u2022 Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks. u2022 Ability to accurately code invoices and manage financial data. u2022 Strong math skills and attention to detail. u2022 Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with the public. u2022 High level of responsibility and reliability in handling cash transactions. u2022 Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
