Job Title: Product Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Product Engineer to serve as the primary contact for customers in relation to new product quotations and introductions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring product manufacturability, and overseeing production processes to achieve seamless project execution. Responsibilities + Collaborate with programming and mechanical engineering teams to quote new work. + Serve as the primary customer contact for the development of new products. + Maintain an understanding of process flow for quoting and order entry. + Analyze part models and communicate product manufacturability. + Conduct product realization meetings. + Develop and update items and routes in ERP software. + Assist in the creation and development of inspection criteria. + Utilize modeling software for process prints and fixture modeling. + Collaborate on gauging development as required. + Assist in improving process capability and production volume. + Work with the Quality department to troubleshoot issues. + Understand cost analysis through software reporting data. + Make decisions about product cost using ERP system data. + Conform to ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820, and medical device industry requirements. + Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. Essential Skills + Proficiency in reading blueprints with knowledge of GD&T. + Strong attention to detail. + Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel. + Excellent communication skills. + Understanding of machining processes. + Familiarity with ISO13485 standards. + Experience with Solidworks or other 3D modeling software. + Knowledge of quoting and job costing processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or minimum of 5 years in an Engineering role. + Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred. + 3-5 years of product management and new product introduction rollout. Work Environment This position operates in a climate-controlled office and factory setting, requiring safety glasses with side shields on the manufacturing floor. Employees may be exposed to odors, fumes, dust or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level can be loud. The role requires working first shift hours starting at 6am or 7am for an 8-hour shift and involves approximately 1% travel between locations during the shift.
