Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description We are seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators for an industrial renovation project at an oil and gas compressor station. The ideal candidate will possess experience in operating heavy machinery to support construction, earthwork, and demolition projects. This role requires expertise in digging, trenching, loading trucks, moving materials, and working safely around existing underground utilities. Responsibilities + Operate heavy equipment with precision and care to avoid damage to existing utilities. + Use hammer attachments to break up concrete and load debris into trucks. + Perform dirt work, including truck loading, trench digging, grading, and backfilling. + Conduct demolition work safely, handling debris and structures with care. + Excavate around existing utilities with precision and care to avoid damage. + Load, move, and stockpile dirt, gravel, aggregate, and other construction materials. + Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs. + Follow site plans, blueprints, and foreman instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. + Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific guidelines. Essential Skills + Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator or in a similar safety role within an industrial or construction environment. + Strong observational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. + Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others. + Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for operating heavy machinery. + Able to stand for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in an industrial environment. + General labor experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in an industrial construction environment, requiring work outdoors in various weather conditions. The standard schedule is Monday through Saturday, from 7 am to 5:30 pm, with the possibility of additional hours. Employees typically work five 10-hour days and one 8-hour day each week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Heidelberg, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
