Reporting into the SVP, National Contracting Leader, the Central Region Network Leader (RVP) is responsible for US Medical Network Contracting Performance across all (4-5) markets in their assigned region. This role has senior leader oversight for network development activities across all markets within the region for Cigna Healthcare US, including provider negotiations, provider relationships, developing and implementing both volume to value and performance-based as well as Fee-For Service programs. The Central RVP is responsible for managing Total Medical Costs (TMC) across the region, with an emphasis on improving Cigna's cost position relative to key competitors. Success will require driving execution of a total unit cost improvements across their markets and ensuring network access and provider satisfaction/network stability across all Cigna products. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all market level contracting strategies and trade-offs within their region are optimized at the enterprise level, and will possess a strong understanding of growth objectives and corresponding network requirements for all markets in their region. The RVP will also serve as an expert in non-standard contracting tactics/approaches, advising market teams on how to achieve the best result for the enterprise. Duties & Responsibilities This Leader will have Regional oversight of our Enterprise Network Strategy, and will also have overall accountability in developing and overseeing local market network strategy planning, and execution. This role will have direct management of 4-5 Network Market Leads, and their respective Market Contracting teams, as well as Payment Innovation for each of their regions. Leadership Accountability includes: + Overall strategic planning and execution of network contracting plans for the US Medical markets in the US regions, with consideration of enterprise goals and objectives, ensuring appropriate resources are obtained for successful execution of network development. + Strategic leader and partner, who will be responsible for aligning matrix partners regarding key decisions on network strategy execution and local market provider network needs supports Cignau2019s ability to execute more efficiently. Responsible for bringing information on products, provider business models and capability gaps informs u201coutside inu201d efforts across the Enterprise. + Establish and maintain executive level relationships with the largest regional health systems and providers in order to further Cigna's strategic objectives. + Leverage enterprise resources to resolve major escalated contractual, payment and other provider disputes. + Leadership influence and executive management to the local market network teams in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans to deliver competitive medical networks. Partner closely with US Commercial & Government Sales/Distribution Leadership to create local contract strategy, while leading the technical operations of the Contracting functions, including service area analysis, physician contracting, network development, and problem resolution. + Extracting the most value from our collaborations and configuring and contracting networks to support various products also supports local market and Enterprise strategies and imperatives. + Oversee the execution of the national and local market TMC solutions serving all buyer groups, advancing value-based reimbursement initiatives, collaborative care arrangements & fostering strong dynamic alliances with critical delivery system partners + Partners with our Delivery System Alliance team and is a critical member in developing and defining alliances as well as ensuring they are implemented. + _Enterprise/Matrix Partnerships: Partner with leadership from other matrix partners, such as: Sales (US Commercial, Medicare Advantage & IFP), Underwriting, Medical Economics, Affordability Strategy and Affordability Governance & Execution, in developing and implementing a market strategy to support medical cost improvement and profitable growth._ + _Governance: 1st line governance of policy and contract compliance through execution, protecting Cigna from uniformed and/or costly decisions with unfavorable impact to stakeholders. Accountable for ensuring smooth flow of communications between the enterprise and the market, including cross segment regional activities._ Qualifications + Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field equivalent experience. Master's and/or MBA degree preferred + Minimum 15+ years in a strategic and leadership role in healthcare network management, including Commercial and Medicare Advantage networks; including, 8-10+ years in provider contracting and network development involving complex hospital systems, integrated delivery systems and large physician groups + Ability to be an influential business leader who can impact and garner support from matrix partners across the Enterprise + Strong and proven leadership skills including a demonstrated ability to manage required actions in support of delivering on a vision/mission, communicating its purpose, and helping drive outcomes/results + Adaptable, flexible and able to lead the organization through transformation; proven track record of delivering results that are high quality, profitable and sustainable + Strong presentation and facilitation skills with internal and external clients and customers; develop strong working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. + Strong leadership, sponsorship and mentoring talents, identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching to improve their knowledge or skills + Must reside in the region, with ability to travel to Providers in the region as needed If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 212,000 - 353,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
