Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma orGED required. 3 years experience in wood finishing processes. knowledgeof cabinet finishing processes and products. Experience in aerospaceindustry preferred. Position Purpose: Under general supervision,prepares, applies, and touches up finish on aircraft furniture, aircraftspecifications and design/engineering drawings. Assists lead byoverseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance and direction toco-workers. Mentors and trains other Cabinet Finishers. Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Performscomplex high quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniturein the shop and on-board aircraft. Applies finish to furniture usingspray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods. Interprets materialspecifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineeringrequirements with a high level of quality and detail. Coordinates withDesign group to ensure compliance with customer approved design plies with and champions Safety, 5S and housekeeping. Ensures theprotection of aircraft interiors (PTP). . Mentors and trains lesserskilled technicians. Works to develop and implement process improvementsthat address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours usingLean Six-Sigma tools. Utilizes the material tracking system to createparts demand, track squawks and sign-off work. Assists in developinginitiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required.Additional Functions: Accepts Lead responsibilities when needed.Oversees projects and coordinates with Lead to delegate tasks toassigned technicians. .
