In this role, no day will be the same. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering top-notch service to our customers. Apply now and start your adventure with us!Responsibilities & Expectations:As a Sr Field Service Technician for Midwest Switchgear, an IPS company, you will perform testing and maintenance on low, medium and high voltage power distribution equipment for our commercial and industrial clients, as well as assist with leading teams in the field. Testing and Calibrations:Instrument Transformer Power Transformer testing - Doble, Insulation Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) Cable testing including Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, HipotCircuit breaker & Switchgear testing of low, medium & high voltagePrimary & Secondary Injection TestingProtective Relay testing including electro-mechanical and solid stateContinuity, Ground FaultPower Quality Troubleshooting, inspecting, start-ups and collect data on: switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, ATSService & Repair: Inspections, diagnosis of issues, replace parts, make recommendations, recommissioningSafety: adhere to all safety protocols including LOTOTeamwork: contributes to a strong team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing mutual goals Customer Service: communicate all information to customers in a way they understand the issues & resolutions Documentation: complete reports on the work you have completedPerform NETA or NICET standards as requiredQualifications and Competencies:Must have 5 or more years of relevant testing experienceProficient in using tools and testing equipment, including Megger, digital multimeter, Hi-Pot tester, Oil Dielectric strength tester,multiampsrelay tester, primary & secondary injection set, cable fault detector, and oscilloscopeMust have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s licenseGood communication and customer service skillsAbility to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals and safety guidelinesAbility to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on callYou’ll thrive at IPS if you…• Lead with integrity and prioritize safety.
