Senior Buyer

Job Title: Senior BuyerJob Location: Melville, NY (100% onsite)Salary: $90,000-$130,000/yr DOECheck and examine purchase requisitions assigned for proper descriptions of items, part numbers, specifications, etc., and place orders for same in accordance with established policies.Establish sources of supply that will ensure reasonable pricing, dependable shipment and reliable quality.Expedites, follows up and administers open purchase orders.Maintain appropriate files on all orders in process.Interview salespeople and vendors and refers descriptive literature to the department concerned.Maintain necessary liaison between all departments within the Company and vendors to ensure maximum efficiency.Develop new sources of supply both for new and routine materials.Coordinate and combine orders of different origins to take advantage of quantity prices.Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 9 years prior relevant experience or Masters degree and a minimum of 7 years prior experience or equivalent.5+ years’ experience in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts preferably in the RF Commercial Military industryExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
