JOB SUMMARY: Supports HRIS and Payroll teams and other leaders through research and analysis. Accountable for data integrity and reporting of the payroll and global HR system. Provides a high level of accuracy in managing data to ensure that results are precise and reliable.Oversee data quality and integrity within HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring accurate and reliable information for reporting and analysisLead and support HRIS and payroll system updates, configuration changes, testing, and technology enhancementsInterpret complex data and convert it into clear, actionable insights while maintaining strong accuracy and attention to detailUnderstand business needs and identify the data required to support effective decision‑makingOversee the end‑to‑end payroll process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for all employeeReview and approve payroll calculations, adjustments, and changes in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirementsMaintain payroll records and audit data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsLead year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 processing, reporting, and audit supportCoordinate with HR, Finance, and department leaders to resolve payroll discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and support cross‑functional needsSupervise, train, and support staff; provide guidance on complex issues and ensure consistent application of payroll and HRIS proceduresIdentify opportunities to streamline HRIS and payroll operations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer serviceProvide support in other areas of HR as needed (e.g. special projects and vacation cover)EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related fieldAdvanced Excel skills requiredEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:Knowledge of UKG System preferredExperience in IBM Cognos report writing preferred or comparable reporting software requiredKnowledge of SQR reporting or SQL preferredFor NewMarket, Afton or Ethyl employees, an appropriate combination of experiences that will support the required skill base may replace one or more of the specific experience requirements above.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Demonstrate initiative and curiosity by actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and implement innovative solutions or systemsStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work with various types of dataExcellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment to achieve department and organizational goalsCommunicate effectively in verbal and written formats with the ability to convey complex information clearly and with strong active-listening skillsCustomer‑service mindset with a collaborative approach to supporting internal stakeholdersManage multiple projects and routine tasks by assessing urgency, prioritizing effectively, and maintaining realistic timelinesHandle routine responsibilities with limited supervision and proactively take initiative when appropriateMaintain strict confidentiality of all data and information in accordance with company policies and compliance standardsWorking at NewMarketWho We Are - We're a diverse, global family of individuals, who share a passion for developing innovative solutions.We build our professional relationships on respect, integrity and a commitment to safety and quality.
