The Environmental Services (EVS) Education & Training Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of all staff education, onboarding, competency validation, and regulatory training programs across Huntsville Hospital campuses.This position provides functional leadership for workforce development and ensures consistent adherence to cleaning, disinfection, waste management, and safety standards. The Manager is accountable for supporting regulatory readiness by aligning departmental education with Joint Commission, Leapfrog, and infection prevention requirements through competency validation, audit tracking, and performance-based training initiatives.This role partners with EVS leadership to identify performance gaps, implement targeted education plans, and drive process improvement through standardized training and competency management.Education required: High School Diploma or GEDEducation preferred: Degree from an accredited college or universityExperience: Training, education, consulting or process improvement experienceAdditional skills:Knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfection standardsUnderstanding of Joint Commission requirementsStrong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills with a wide range of constituencies with diverse backgroundsAbility to manage multiple training initiatives across campusesProficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systemsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with leadershipAbility to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on research data and findingsSkill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.Skill in organizing resources and establishing prioritiesAbility to analyze EVS department training needs and training effectivenessHighlights of our hospitalsHuntsville Hospital was recently namedBest Regional Hospital and #2 in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report.
