Position is based in the greater San Diego area and requires a presence in both office and field work locations.Duties and Responsibilities:Produce and participate in signal system designs for transit and rail projects of various levels of complexity with little to no supervision to include:Automatic train control systems (ATCS)Vital microprocessor and relay-based interlockingBlock signal systemsSignal circuit drawing typicalHighway crossing warning systemsSignal system integrationProduce detailed signal system construction plans for transit and rail projects of various levels of complexity to include:Site plansSignal Installation drawingsSignal installation and equipment typical drawingsTemporary interface designsReview circuit designs for failures and customer technical specification complianceWrite test and commissioning specifications and proceduresWrite test plans and cutover stagingAbility to use simulator (SATs or Vital-Sim) to pretest vital and non-vital application logicAbility to lead a team of signalmen in the testing and commissioning of new signal systemsDoes this seem like an opportunity that you can be all aboard with in your career? Well, here’s a little more on the required experience we’re looking for in this new teammate.Required Qualifications:In-depth knowledge of signaling principles pertaining to automatic and cab signaling systemsIn-depth understanding of Boolean algebra as it pertains to Signal application logic programs10-20 years of experience in a Railroad Signals environmentKnowledge of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems and associated federal regulationsA minimum of 10 years of progressive experience performing Signal System designPreferred Qualifications:BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering/Engineering TechnologyMaster’s or other advanced degree(s)Direct Signal System experience working at a rail or transit agencyProfessional Engineer License (PE) or the ability to obtain a licenseProject Management Profession (PMP) certificationPosition is full time and requires that the candidate be hired live in the greater San Diego / Orange County area for frequest field work and collaboration with the local client's team.SYSTRA USA provides a benefits package including medical, dental, 401k and other offerings that focus on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.SYSTRA USA is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.
