GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:Responsible for receptionist duties as assigned by the Commanding Officers and work closely with the Social ServicesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGreet the public (clients, donors, board members, etc.) in a pleasant and helpful mannerMaintain cleanliness and operations of the front officeMust be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writingAnswer telephone: take messagesSort and distribute donated bread, sweets, chips, and other food items to clients and keep records as appropriateDocument client files in the computer for needed assistanceAssist caseworker with client intakeEnter statistics onto Excel and Word documents as neededEnter client data using Pantry TrackDistribute mail/packagesWhen necessary, prepare food items for food pantry (pack food boxes/meat). (Will include heavy lifting of at least 50 lbs.)Calculate volunteer hoursAssist other departments if needed working as a teamAssist with all holiday programsRecord in-kind donations received through front officeTrain volunteers/WEP workers/Goodwill workersMaintain appearance of the lobbyAssist Case worker with social service dutiesOther miscellaneous duties as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with oversight of volunteersMINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum High School DiplomaSPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust be proficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelBackground check is required through the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCII)Must have a valid driver's licenseSalvation Army Mission StatementThe Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.
