Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in Orange, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing client accounts and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a customer-focused approach to resolving billing issues and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities: u2022 Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment shortfalls, and disputes by collaborating with internal teams such as billing and customer success. u2022 Keep detailed records of collection activities, payment agreements, and customer interactions. u2022 Analyze aging reports regularly and present updates on overdue accounts to management. u2022 Conduct follow-ups on open accounts to minimize Days Sales Outstanding and improve cash flow. u2022 Assist in applying and reconciling customer payments as needed. u2022 Contribute to month-end closing processes by providing insights on delinquent accounts and expected recoveries. u2022 Communicate professionally with clients while collecting payments and addressing concerns. u2022 Support the team in maintaining compliance with company policies and financial procedures. Requirements u2022 2u20134 years of experience in B2B collections, ideally within the technology, service, or subscription sectors. u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of accounts receivable processes and effective collection strategies. u2022 Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities. u2022 Experience working in dynamic and collaborative environments. u2022 Ability to maintain a customer-focused mindset while resolving financial issues.
