Property Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join our team in Englewood, New Jersey. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a strong background in property accounting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: u2022 Perform month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. u2022 Manage and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records. u2022 Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. u2022 Oversee property accounting activities, including CAM reconciliations and residential property financials. u2022 Utilize Yardi software to handle accounting tasks and generate detailed reports. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and analysis. u2022 Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. u2022 Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. u2022 Expertise in property accounting, including CAM and residential property financials. u2022 Proficiency in Yardi software for accounting and reporting purposes. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance standards. u2022 Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
